EXPO 98 - Lisbon World Exposition

After Expo, it was created the Gil's Foundation

♥ It was ten years ago... The world was concentrated in one place – Lisbon!
During 132 days Lisbon became the stage of EXPO 98 – The Lisbon International Exposition. During those days we had only in one place more than 5.000 International events, a result of the participation of 146 countries and 14 internationals organizations.

The World eyes were all in Lisbon… And most of them didn’t believe that a small country could make such a huge and important event. But we did it!!! And we all were very proud with the result. We could prove to everyone, that we are small but we can make important and big things. And as the result of the Portuguese success, after Expo, we proved it again with others big events, like EURO Cup 2004; Rock In Rio Concerts (in few days we will have the 3rd), New 7 Wonders of World event, and so many others…

That's the way it started…



The Expo Park or the Nations Park became one of the best places in Lisbon and also one of my favourites…
Here, you can see the biggest river which cross Portugal - Tejo, we have one of the biggest aquarium of Europe - the Oceanário, many bars and restaurants, shops and cinemas, the Portuguese biggest concert room – Pavilhão Atlântico, The FIL – The Lisbon International Fair, and specially it is a beautiful place to spend some time with family and friends.

Everyone who visit Portugal, come to visit this new Oriental Lisbon Zone… But of course, if you want to taste the famous Pasteis de Belém you have to go to the Occidental Zone where we have the most important monuments of the city.
Enjoy this trip with 10 years…

11 de Setembro…

♥ Seis anos depois o que mudou? Pouca coisa.

Continuam os medos, os choros e as cerimónias pelas vítimas do atentado. E o espaço deixado pelas torres, continua ali… ainda sem as devidas mudanças que permitam não relembrar com frequência tudo o que ali se passou há 6 anos atrás. Não que se vá esquecer ou ignorar, mas sim tentar libertar todo sofrimento causado durante todos estes anos de contemplação por passagens daquele espaço…
